about what the scripts for reality shows look like. Turns out they are rather more in depth than you'd have thought. Basically it's looking like reality shows are just sitcoms with bad production values. The article includes an entire "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" script -- not with much dialog, but certainly paraphrases. Not much left to chance here, folks.
Interesting stuff. I had no idea they were scripted to that extent.
Makes "Curb Your Enthusiasm" an interesting borderline case. According to Larry David, they only outline CYE and let the actors improvise, unless certain lines are crucial (as in "Beloved Aunt").
Working my way through your book at the moment - good stuff, I'd like to come back to some of the subjects in there, if you don't mind.
