Pilot School is a terrific collection of pilot scripts. Lisa says the pilot script for MAD MEN is laugh out loud funny -- quite a change from the dry way it came out, eh?

Reading the Studio 60 (or Studio 7) script brings me back to the hype surrounding the launch of that show and 30 Rock. I watched the first episode of both and remember thinking Studio 60 was very strong, and 30 Rock sucked. The writing was awkward and the story was lame. But it was about TV, which was still enough for me.
But then after watching Week 2 I had completely changed my opinion. The over-the-top Sorkin-ness of Studio 60 - particularly Harriet's pouting - was killing me and I couldn't take it anymore. While the second episode of 30 Rock was brilliant and the whole first season exploded with excellentness.
Well, there goes my weekend.

Ah, so it is the same site! I was wondering.
Trellick -- I had exactly the same response to Studio 60 and 30 Rock. I think 30 Rock just needed a couple of episodes to find its footing.
My weirdest pilot reaction was to Pushing Daisies. I loved it, but I felt I'd just seen a complete, wonderful indie movie, and I didn't want to watch it turn into a procedural.
