MORE ON BOSTON LEGAL, and TIVO
I read on TV Tome that it's been picked up for 22 eps. That's a good sign.
I also read it's #40 on the
TiVo Season Pass Hot 100. This is the ranking of shows by how many TiVo viewers asked their TiVo to record every single episode. 6 percent of all TiVo's are recording every
Boston Legal. Not so strong as compared with (yikes)
Desperate Housewives [#3].
But I have faith it will gather an audience.
Amazingly West Wing is still up there (#9 or so). Guess people still haven't noticed how badly it sucks. I wonder why Leo had a heart attack?

Boston Legal got a 22 episode order last March, before the show had a cast announced other than Spader, before the show had its first title, before the show had its second title, before there was a script, and before David E. Kelley announced he was going to have less to do with the show than he had with his previous shows. I don't know if you can call it a good sign in the same way you could if the show was picked up for a full season after it had already begun.
Did you mean to put in a number for Desperate Housewives to compare it to Boston Legal's Tivo numbers? I looked it up at tivo.com and Desperate Housewives is #3 to Boston Legal's #40. In one sense the TIVO numbers reflect the ratings for the two shows: Boston Legal's numbers aren't bad if you look at them in a vacuum, but when you see that half of the lead-in's audience tunes out, it doesn't look as strong.
Good tip on when the order came in.
Dunno what DEK is planning to do with BL, but at least this far into the season (ep 7) it is still very much his show.
Anyway I have faith it will develop an audience. I don't have a lot of faith that DH will drop off, 'cause Bush won, but I'd like to think it will wear out its welcome.
John Spencer's character, Leo, didn't die and isn't leaving the show, as far as I know.
