A WONDERFUL MAN, A GREAT ENTERTAINER, AND MY WRITING PROFESSOR FOR SEVERAL YEARS
Lew Hunter's doing his intensive screenwriting seminar up in Nebraska. He's a warm, wonderful man and an encouraging, enthusiastic screenwriting teacher -- I took his Screenwriting 434 class, I think, three times while I was at UCLA. He's also won awards for his TV writing, so he's the real thing. If you want to get away from it all and write a screenplay -- here's the info:

I wouldn't mind getting away for a screenwriting intensive, but why the hell is Hunter holding his in Nebraska of all possible places in the northern hemisphere?!
Uh, well, he lives there!
When you take Lew's Screenwriting Colony -- call it a seminar or workshop, but he likes the concept of an artists' colony -- you are going to stay in one of the two Victorians he owns which are located a block apart. And this is included in the fee, so you are not paying for a hotel.
I don't know about other writing courses, but what this means is Lew and Pamela want you to become part of their extended family, which sometimes means staying up late talking about movies, TV, your family, and life in general.
Full disclosure: I am his webmaster and adopted son. It took me two years to figure out that the Hunters are genuine because I was a cynical city boy.
