The Oscarcast piqued my interested in
Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion; then the IMDB plot summary piqued it some more. But the darn movie isn't out on DVD. Will someone please release it? It won Best Foreign Film of 1970, for heaven's sake!

I just saw IOACAS for the first time at the Film Forum here in NYC as part of, yes, an Ennio Moricone festival at the Film Forum. Didn't know much about it. OH DEAR GOD it's a great film. EXTREMELY timely right now. Gianmaria Volante is a police chief who is both exhilirated and horrified by the rise of unchecked state power. He decides to kill his mistress and leave obvious clues, just to see if he really is omnipotent. AMAZING. Imagine how thrilled I was when it was mentioned onscreen TWICE last night.
