And here's the official WGA Pencils Down Memo.
"So, just to be absolutely clear: In the event of a strike, we, the following showrunners, will do no writing and no story breaking — nor will any be asked of our writing staffs — until we get a deal."I know just how much paid work I would be doing if I were a WGA member -- or if my guild, the WGC, were out on strike.
Zippo.
Should be some very interesting spec features, pilot ideas, and novels coming out whenever the strike ends.
As one of those low-life, schmucks with typewriters, no-good greedy bastard writers, I know exactly how much writing I'm going to do: exactly none. I'm not going to think or talk about writing. I'm going to pretend that this strike thing is just a bad dream and when I wake up [and it's all over], I'll actually be valued and respected. And with my increased earnings I'm going to buy my very own studio and fire every fucking producer I see and hire in their place people who are worthy. Like high school drop outs, maybe.
