You Should Play Poker

According to this blogger, you can learn a lot about business from poker. Pretty much all these lessons apply to show business.

Since lessons don't really sink in until you're in the mix, I recommend you all find a poker game to join. Then you'll know what he's talking about.

It really depends on how he writes the book.  I agree that poker, and
card playing in general, can be an excellent analogy and metaphor for a many
human activities.  However, you don't necessarily have to have an intimate
knowledge of the particular game to understand the lessons.  As an example,
my co-author knows nothing of poker.  When we set out to write
Leadership: Texas Hold 'em Style,
the partnership worked well because my partner didn't know the game; as I
supposedly do.  The partnership forced us as writers to create a work that
could be understood and used, whether or not you know poker.
