I think the point of this video is a valid one, and it looks like its unspoken message is that the top of the cinematic food chain is dominated by men who, whether intentionally or not, fail to appreciate women's stories.
But as indie film-making becomes cheaper and cheaper, I can't help but think--what's stopping them? To these women, I'd say please make a micro-budget film, telling a compelling story and let the world appreciate. Yes, in doing so, you unfortunately won't have the sanction of the powers-that-be , but as your great stories build an audience, you'll build support for your film making.
