We're seeing the grandparents Monday, on our way back up to Montreal from New York, crossing the George Washington Bridge on our way up to I-87.
Can anyone recommend a yummy family-friendly restaurant not too far from the Palisades Parkway, anywhere North of the GWB, or anything off the 17? Anything in Fort Lee, Teaneck, Paramus?
Spicy and non-chain is a plus.

Dude, you are in prime Diner territory. Meatloaf special, fries, good burgers... Off Route 17? tons of them. Fuhgeddaboutit.
I'm from there. Newsbar in Fort Lee, right over the George Washington Bridge is excellent, if open. Try the dumplings. Also, Rudy's in Closter (Palisades Parkway exit 2) is excellent. And there is an excellent but pricier hibachi place called Kiku between exits 2 and 3 in Alpine, NJ.
Also, Baumgart's in Englewood on Palisades Avenue. About a mile due east of Palisades Parkway exit 1.
I've been to Newsbar and Rudy's -- and dan's right. Good choices.

If you like spicy and Korean, there is nice (inexpensive) restaurant called do rae noddle or close to it. It located off of Main Street - right accross from the Citibank, in fact you park at Citibank's lot, the address for the bank is 154 Main St. The restaurant is right on the side st across from the parking lot I think it's called Martha Washington Way. You can't miss it. If you never had Korean try the noddle soup, noodles are home made - they serve around 6 different types of vegetables dishes all spicy and healthy. Yummie. We love it, we are from Paramus but love to drive up for the taste of Korea. Enjoy
