I ran across this Australian PSA, which seems to me just about the state of the art in don't-drive-drunk ads. Warning: graphic hospital scenes.
Hell of a tagline, too.
To me it seems these ads only have a marginal effect. The 'bloody idiots' are still on the road all the time, drunk or not.
Drunk driving, speeding, road rage, you name it.
But admitted: 'marginal' is better than 'no effect'.
I am just wondering if Australia is worse than the rest of the world.
Australia has a bit of a "hard drinking" culture, but I don't know if they have a worse drink-driving problem than anywhere else.
However, they do seem to be willing to take the gloves off when it comes to drink driving ads...
