While we're at this comparison of writing TV in Britain and its North American colonies... would any working TV writers from other countries be willing to tell us about how it works there? Australia, for example? France? Germany? Iceland? Let me know and I'll send you a few questions, or you can just fire away.

For Oz, if you can, I would talk to the company Working Dog. They have produced several shows on TV mainly in the area of comedy, and a couple of feature films, The Dish, and the Castle.
Their website www.workingdog.com however, gives no contact details and I cannot find them listed in the whitepages over here.
If you have some secret squirrel contact book, and can locate them, I would suggest talking to Tom Gleisner, he interveiws very well and also does a lot of writing for them I believe.
cheers
Dave.
